Overview
Greenwich Market enjoys the best location in London, and the nicest trip down on the river and the best crafts – the last in its own separate, and covered market. There used to be a lot more antique shops of nautical bent here, but today’s shops are worth visiting any day and on Saturday and Sunday there are at least three separate markets specializing in crafts, furniture, books, coins, stamps and medals. Arrive early and allow time for the Maritime Museum and Observatory. A lot more vendors turn up on weekends and there’s a special crafts market. Open 7 days a week .
Nearest underground: Jubilee Line to Canary Wharf and then DLR (Docklands Light Railway) from Tower Gate to Canary Wharf and then to Cutty Sark for Maritime Greenwich or Greenwich Station. River Boats to Greenwich Pier from the following piers: Tower of London, Charing Cross and Westminster. |
