  Overview

The Jungle Brothers complete with Aloha shirts, straw hats and a wildly offbeat performance is typical of the scope of this aptly-named bar in Camden Town, a district of London where survivors of the 'Summer of Love' reside. The café brings back memories of hippies past, and offers a selection of music running from Texas to Timbuktu. The café has downstairs standing room and some small booths at the back of the main room that offer a view of the stage for basketball players only. Otherwise, stand on the seat or spring for a rather nice £10 ($15) pub grub dinner that's served up on the balcony. Make sure you get a table in the front of the balcony to take advantage of the great views. Since some surprising names play here, it's worth heading by the next door Camden Ticket Shop on an earlier trip, or calling the Mean Fiddler/Ticketmaster (0171 344 0044) for information and reservations.

The cover charge varies from £10 ($15) to perhaps twice as much

Hours:  Opens at 19:00, secondary band 20:00 to 20:45, headliners 21:30 to 23:00. Note: the underground runs to about 00:30 so there's time to get home.

Nearest Underground: Camden Town -- turn right out of the tube station onto Parkway.
