Overview
This is one of the biggest tourist clubs in world, and certainly the largest in London. They immodestly bill as 'the world’s most famous discotheque.” The Hippodrome is so popular they've named a corner of Leicester Square 'Hippodrome Corner.' The club is based on commercial music, big time DJs, incredible sound and light systems, half a dozen bars and restaurant service.
Expect something different each night. Monday runs to R&B, soul and swing. Tuesday brings commercial dance sounds. Wednesday brings boogie and a midnight stage show. Thursday runs to 'hot and horny.' Friday has a big house session and it's back to dance on Saturday.
Most of the patrons are tourists, but if you like booming mainstream music, you’ll love it. Club is open from 21:00 pm until 03:00 Monday through Thursday, 03:30 on Friday and Saturday. Nearest underground: Leicester Square |
