The
British gave us dubious food items such as jellied eels and
odd implements such as toast racks apparently aimed at
chilling toast, but there's little question but that London,
not Paris, is the cutting edge culinary capitol of the world.
British food has, at least in the country, always been
good if you allow for a tendency to overcook vegetables.
Wonderful game, great sausages, splendid cheeses,
seasonal produce and the kind of fish you'd expect from an
island nation go far.
