With so
much to see in London it’s easy, and pleasant to get trapped
in town, but visits to areas outside downtown offer an
affordable change-of-pace with “same day return” tickets
on the train that, for little more than a one-way fare, get
you there and back. You can rest your feet, check your guidebook going and plan
your evening coming home.
After all, thanks to the Circle Line, London’s train
stations connect you to London’s Theaterland and other
attractions.
TIP:
if you have more time, overnight stays in Salisbury,
Southampton and Bath are highly recommended as a means of
avoiding midday tourist crushes in the summer months.
